Nursery & childcare · 6 weeks – 5 years · Elmsworth

Where your little one is known, not just minded.

Little Acorns is a licensed, 51-week nursery caring for babies through preschoolers. Every child keeps the same two key workers all year round, so the faces that open the door in the morning are faces your child already trusts.

A typical day

What your child's day actually looks like

No two days are identical — that's what makes childhood good — but the rhythm stays the same, so your child always knows what's coming next.

am

Arrival & Settling In

Doors open at 7:30. Your child's key worker is the one who crouches down to say good morning, so goodbyes are quick and mornings feel familiar, not scary.

8:15
am

Breakfast

Porridge, toast, and fruit, eaten at low tables in small groups. Children pour their own water from little jugs — it's messy for about a week, then it isn't.

9:30
am

Outdoor Play

Every room goes outside, rain or shine — we keep wellies and puddle suits on site for exactly that reason. Fresh air before lunch means calmer afternoons.

12:30
pm

Nap & Quiet Time

Babies sleep on their own rhythm, tracked and shared with you daily. Older children rest for 45 minutes with a story, even if they don't sleep — bodies need the pause.

2:30
pm

Activities

Painting, phonics, den-building, music — planned week to week around what each room is curious about, not a fixed worksheet everyone repeats.

4:45
pm

Pickup

The same key worker who said good morning tells you one real thing about their day — not "good day," an actual moment worth hearing.

Take the tour

Three rooms, one steady rhythm

Children move rooms when they're ready for it — not on their birthday — and always with a familiar face coming with them.

Acorns Room

Babies · 6 weeks – 14 months Ratio 1:3

Low light, soft flooring, and a sleep routine built around your child's, not ours. Every day you get a written note of feeds, naps, and nappies — no app, just a real note from someone who was there.

Saplings Room

Toddlers · 15 months – 2.5 years Ratio 1:4

This is the messy-play room, on purpose. Paint, the mud kitchen, and first words are all encouraged here, with low shelves so children choose their own activity instead of waiting to be handed one.

Oaks Room

Preschool · 2.5 – 5 years Ratio 1:8

Phonics, numbers, and a Friday walk to Elmsworth Common whatever the weather. Each child gets a "helper of the day" job — feeding the fish, watering the herbs — small responsibility, real pride.
